The Iris

My mother called these flowers "Flags," and loved the blue/purple color.  The Iris, planted as a bulb, is one of the first spring flowers to bloom.  I like to wear this scarf in the winter with a nice white sweater or blouse to remind me that spring is coming.  Perhaps it's because I know that the Iris is a symbol of hope.
