My love of silk painting began in a gorgeous chateau in the Morvan area of Burgundy, France where I spent two weeks learning this wonderfully addictive art form.  I have literally painted around the world and drawn much inspiration from the many cultures and places I've visited.  My instructor recommended ordering from Dharma and I've been a customer ever since.  I use the Jacquard green label silk dyes, Pebeo water-based gutta, Reduran hand-cleaning cream, and various sizes of silk scarves, pillow forms and clothing to use in creating my original designs.  I've also purchased the stretcher frames in various sizes plus extensions, which are so versatile.  In the beginning, I used dyeset but now have a steamer which results in more vibrant colors.  Please take a look at my websitewww.nectarsilks.com.

May Day Event
Garden Club of Annapolis May Day Boutique
The Annapolis Garden Club hosted their annual May Fair Luncheon and Boutique at the Annapolis Yacht Club and Nectar Silks was one of the vendors. May Day is when downtown Annapolis is bedecked with hundreds of May baskets, a lovely custom that has been going on since Colonial Days. The Garden Club suggested folks walk around downtown to view the May Day baskets, then stroll on over to the Annapolis Yacht Club where a wide variety of artisans were selling their spring wares.  Rebecca, along with assistant, Patri Welch, offered many original one-of-a-kinds plus the Nectar Silks line of limited edition scarves and other wearable art.  The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful May Day!  Watch for the dates of next year's event.
